This past month we had the opportunity to participate in two great events: VentureBeat’s MobileBeat and an event put on by both DevNetwork and #SFbeta, the first ever Developer-to-Developer (D2D) Summit.
MobileBeat coincided with the World Cup, so at any given time there was someone cheering because their team had scored a goal. In other words, lots of positive energy! We exhibited in the Nest area, alongside other new and exciting technology companies.
We learned that a lot of developers are still building out their backend from scratch, spending weeks, sometimes even months creating, testing, tweaking the stack that will support their mobile app. Many were excited to learn that there is a way to cut down on development time without sacrificing functionality or flexibility, thanks to built.io’s mobile backend and platform capabilities.
Overall, MobileBeat was a great opportunity to rub shoulders with mobile thought leaders, influencers, buyers and innovators. Congratulations are in order to our Nest neighbors, CommandIQ, for winning the Nest competition. We also want to thank the MobileBeat team, especially Briana Billingham and Cameron Merriman for helping to make this an all-around success for built.io.
The D2D Summit was equally exciting. With hundreds of attendees representing startups and the larger developer community, we had the opportunity to demo built.io to a highly skilled technical audience. Once again, we discovered that many developers are still “inventing” custom backends. Most were very interested in learning more about our mobile backend as a service (MBaaS) capabilities. Special thanks to Geoff Domoracki and Christian Perry for organizing another high quality event. We look forward to future Summits and keeping in touch with the new friends we made at D2D.
